      Joni Keskey

      November 15, 2008

      Hi Everbody! I'm Joni...

I've been asked to write a "short bio" for this class. Most of you who know me, also know I can't write or speak shortly at all, but I'll try. We moved to Lake Ann from a farm near Saranac, Michigan. (That's halfway between Clarksville and Smyrna.) I was a member of West Michigan Decorative Artists for 5 years, serving as a board member for 4, including, member at large, vice president, president, and past president. I was a charter member of NEDA and have served on the board since its inception. That's because I like to be where the action is. I came to decorative painting, looking for new ways to decorate my pottery, found I loved the art form and have been hooked ever since. I teach classes at home because there is nothing neater than to watch the light bulb go off for someone. My favorite media have been acrylics and watercolors, but 6 years ago, I took a colored pencil class from Cindy Rippe. Didn't do much other than buy a few pencils and fool around a little. Then about 18 months ago, I decided to get serious and see what pencils can do. I'm in Love!!! They are the greatest medium ever, transportable, clean and versatile. If you ever loved to sprawl on the floor and "color", you're gonna love this class!
